Your Personal Fertility Journey
Now that you’ve booked a consultation with one of our fertility experts you can learn more about your own personal treatments, fertility in general and what your first and subsequent visits will entail by accessing your unique patient portal HERE
Fertility tests and treatment can be challenging. Challenging on the body, on the mind, and equally on your relationships with your partner, spouse or family members. Your feedback has been an important factor in our recognition of that and as such fertility counselling is now being offered to every patient attending ReproMed Fertility Clinics as part of their fertility treatments.
As part of our holistic approach to treatment we are making specialist fertility counselling available to anyone who is finding the process challenging. Our fertility counselling sessions allow patients to speak freely and in confidence to an experienced professional about any aspect of their treatment, or about their worries, stress or anxiety as a result of subfertility.
Guidelines from the Irish Fertility Society, the Irish Fertility Counsellors Association, and the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology deem counselling to be a required part of treatment involving the use of donor gametes or surrogacy.
In addition to these professional recommendations, we provide specialist fertility counselling on site because we believe wholeheartedly that it helps to discover and resolve any issues which may be affecting our patients’ experience of fertility treatments and negatively impacting their ability to conceive; thus enabling positive change.
Issues that may be affecting you whilst you are considering or undergoing treatment include:
- Feelings of anxiety or stress
- A sense of loss of control or frustration
- Relationship difficulties
- Feelings of guilt or anger about the situation
- Feeling low, upset, tearful
- Difficulty making decisions related to treatment
- A sense of being overwhelmed
- Uncertainty about the future, concerns about implications of treatment
At your appointment, you will meet with one of our highly qualified and experienced Fertility Counsellors for a session lasting one hour. They will work with you to identify and address any underlying issues or concerns you may have. If you would like further sessions then you can arrange another appointment as it suits you.
Our fertility counsellors operate a policy of complete discretion. You will be free to discuss any aspects of your treatment or experience at ReproMed assured that this information will be kept strictly confidential.
